Day 1: Colombo

Welcome to the Pearl of the Indian Ocean! On arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality our Representative will welcome you at the airport and transfer to Colombo. Check-in to your hotel and relax after a long flight. In the evening you will visit Colombo City and can enjoy a Walking Tour to experience some Street food at Galle Face green. Here you will taste some authentic street food in Sri Lanka, specifically: Rotti, Naan, Kottu as Wade. And also you can taste some Fruit Pickle as well for your dessert. Return back to your hotel or roam around Colombo to enjoy the nightlife. If required we will reorganize the program depending on your flight time.

Day 2: Colombo - Dambulla

Colombo - Dambulla Have breakfast in the hotel and after you will be transferred to Dambulla. On the way, you will stop by a local stop where you will enjoy a Hot cup of Tea with a small snack called “Roti” or freshly made Corn by the roadside experiencing the local way of Sri Lanka. This place is famous for travelers to refresh and enjoy a small snack on your way towards the Cultural triangle and to experience the local way of life. Visit Dambulla Cave temple before check in to the hotel. Dambulla Rock Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage site that was built on the 01st B.C. The cave temple consists of Five caves with painted walls and ceilings which have more than 150 images of Buddha. In the evening you will check-in to the hotel which surrounds Lush greenery and forests in Sigiriya. You will love the ambiance! Enjoy the dinner at the hotel, if you prefer you may dip in the pool and have a quick swim before dinner.

Day 3: Dambulla - Habarana - Minnariya

Enjoy your breakfast and visit a local village in Habarana. Today you will do an exciting Cycle Ride or village walk through the back roads of a Habarana village. Riding a bike or walking in a rural village on gravel roads, between paddy fields, Chena cultivations and around hidden lake while enjoying the nature and breathing fresh air, you will see lots of endemic birds, wild animals during this ride, not only that you will have a chance to visit a rural house and quench your thirst with a cup of tea or a Herbal drink which served by a villager. You will end the ride or a walk with a Sri Lanka rice and curry lunch in a traditional Mud Hut in the village. Then late afternoon enjoy a Safari in Minneriya National Park which is a hot spot for Elephants Gathering. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population. Sri Lankan Leopard and Sloth bear which is rare and endangered species also inhabit this area. The tank is historically important for the country as it was built by King Mahasen in the 3rd century AD. Enjoy the dinner and then relax, it’s been a day with lots of exciting activities.

Day 4: Sigiriya – Mahiyanganaya

Earl morning before the Breakfast visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, to discover this gigantic monument it is best if you visit as early as possible (opens at 6.30 AM) you can have your breakfast once return to the hotel. Sigiriya rock fortress. Among locals, this is called the “8th wonder of the world” absolutely marvelous fortress complex which dates back to 477 CE situated 200 meters high from the ground. This giant rock fortress has water fountains, boulder gardens, frescos, mirror walls, relics of the castle and many more exciting monuments from the bottom to the top of the complex. This is definitely the most visited tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. UNESCO has declared this ancient city as one of the World Heritage sites in Sri Lanka. Some people believe that Sigiriya is a post-historical archeology turning point of Ravana. According to them, Sigiriya may be the Alakamandava (the City of the Gods) that was built up before 50 centuries ago by King Kubera who was the half-brother of Great king Ravana. Thereafter you will travel to Mahiynganaya, check in to the hotel and relax.

Day 5: Mahiyanganaya - Kandy

Breakfast at hotel and visit the Vedda Village. Sri Lanka’s Aborigines’, or the Veddha’s meaning “people of the forest” of Sri Lanka has a history much older than prince Vijaya’s landing in 5th century BC and the origins of the Sinhala race. Veddha’s also collect bee’s honey and exchange it with the locals for axe blades and cloth. If they are in the mood they (Vedda people) will do a dance performance to entertain you (not guaranteed) Later proceed towards Kandy and visit a household for a cookery secession. You will learn about the Sri Lankan authentic sweets which are normally made at occasions. The family will do an introduction about the different sweets (Kawum, Kokis, Aluwa, Undu Wal) Then you will be guided through the ingredients and methods of preparation of each Sweet items while you also join the preparation. Kandy the popular charming hill capital of Sri Lanka is surrounded by hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. It is the cultural center of the island and a UNESCO heritage city. The sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined at the Dalada Maligawa, the temple of the tooth. The arts and crafts center in Kandy, the main Buddhist monasteries Malwatta and Asgiriya Monasteries are places that must be visited. Kandy is a great place for souvenir shopping and to learn about its rich culture and history. Enjoy lunch at a local outside restaurant in Kandy and evening spent with on own activities. You can walk around the Kandy Lake. Evening witnesses a Cultural Show and visit the Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Day 6: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Nuwara Eliya, The famous hill country of Sri Lanka. En-route visit Tea Plantation with Tea Factory where you will experience the Tea production process. Also, you can do a Tea Plucking session, if interested. You will travel between scenic tea plantations & will pass beautiful waterfalls on this journey (don’t fell asleep and keep your camera ready, you will pass lots of picture-perfect sites). You will enjoy a fresh Ceylon tea tasting experience. Nuwara Eliya is a city in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The city is considered to be one of the most important locations for tea cultivation and well known for its cool climate being the coolest area in Sri Lanka. Many of the buildings have still preserved features from the colonial period. Many private homes have also maintained their old English-style lawns and gardens. Enjoy your dinner at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya – Galle

Breakfast at the hotel and kick off your day, today you are heading to Gall the down south Beach destination in Sri Lanka. If you are into Adventure, you have something to do on the way, you can take part in a White Water Rafting session in Kithulgala (optional) You will reach Gall in the afternoon, check-in to the hotel and run to the beach you will love the sea breeze and the sound of the ocean. In the Evening visit and explore Historic Galle Fort – UNESCO listed site. Galle the beautiful colonial town along the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka is a city that cannot be missed. Galle is popular for the 300 years old fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 36-hectare fort was built by the Dutch in 1663, surrounded on three sides by the ocean. The streets within the fort are crammed with colonial remnants from the Dutch Clock tower, Reformed church and the commander’s house to the British coat of arms on the outer wall. Return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.

Day 8: Galle

Enjoy your scrumptious Breakfast at the hotel while looking at the beautiful ocean, have a sea bath or Dip in the pool and relax. A special Seafood Lunch is organized for you in an outside beach restaurant, visit the lunch spot and enjoy the fresh seafood lunch that you will love. Return back to the hotel and relax, enjoy the farewell dinner in Sri Lanka.

Day 9: Galle - Colombo
