ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival – Kalpitiya

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality. Our representative will welcome you and transfer to Kalpitiya. Check-in to the hotel and relax on your first day in Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka. You may visit the beach just a quick walk away from your hotel, this is a very quiet and calm area with so much freedom for you, enjoy the sea breeze. Kalpitiya is a peninsula set in between the deep lagoon of Puttalam to the east and the magnificent Indian Ocean to the west. It is an unrivaled marine sanctuary with a diversity of habitats ranging from bar reefs, flat coastal plains, saltpans, mangrove swamps, salt marshes, and vast sand dune beaches.

Day 2: Discover the Kalpitiya

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel overlooking the beautiful ocean. Spend the morning secession on the beach, you could lay on the golden sandy beach and get some tan, have a swim in the warm tropical ocean, swim in the pool or just relax and enjoy the view while sipping a cold beer or a cocktail-mocktail. In the afternoon join and enjoy a Boat Ride at Kalpitiya Lagoon and witness the magical sundown moment. Return to hotel and relax.

Day 3: Kalpitiya to Wasgamuwa for Wildlife

Breakfast at the hotel and kick off your day, proceed to Wasgamuwa for a unique wildlife experience. You may stop at few places on the way to enjoy a fresh fruit juice or a king coconut to quench your thirst. Wasgamuwa National Park is home to incredibly diverse wildlife including 23 species of mammal and reptiles. Its main attraction is a majestic herd of over 150 elephants, which can be seen in their most natural feeding and roaming state. Wasgamuwa derives its name from the Sinhalese 'walas gamuwa’, ‘walaha’ alluding to the bear and ‘gamuwa’ to 'the woods'. Check into the hotel in Wasgamuwa and enjoy the evening.

Day 4: Discover the specialties at Wasgamuwa

Enjoy the breakfast and leave for morning a Safari in the Wasgamuwa National Park and witness the beautiful wildlife in Wasgamuwa. Wasgamuwa Park is situated in the Matale and Polonnaruwa districts. It was opened to protect the displaced wild animals during the Mahaweli development project. It is widely known for its sloth bear population. The park has several ancient sites and the wildlife population is quite vast here. Elephants could be observed and large herds could be sighted from November to May. Three wildlife bungalows are available on prior booking at Wasgamuwa park. This park is a paradise to nature lovers. Return to the hotel and engage with few local activities in Wasgamuwa (activities may differ based on your travel season). In the evening walk around the Hotel and explore the area on your own. Return to the hotel and relax.

Day 5: Visit Mahiyanganaya, The ancient City

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed towards Mahiyanganaya, discover the ancient Buddhist religious monuments and the natural rural beauty of Mahiyanganaya. Mahiyanganaya is a town situated close to the Mahaweli River in Badulla District, Uva Province of Sri Lanka. It is said that Gautama Buddha visited Mahiyanganaya on the full moon Poya day of January in order to settle a dispute arose between Yakkas and Nagas (two tribes then inhabited this area) and this was his first-ever visit to Sri Lanka. Check into the hotel and relax.

Day 6: Meet the indigenous Vadda people of Sri Lanka and visit Arugambay

Breakfast at the hotel and visit the Vedda Village. Sri Lanka’s Aborigines’, or the Veddha’s meaning “people of the forest” of Sri Lanka has a history much older than prince Vijaya’s landing in the 5th century BC and the origins of the Sinhala race. Veddha’s also collect bee’s honey and exchange it with the locals for ax blades and cloth. you will have the opportunity to meet them communicate with the (mostly sign languages) its fun and witness the way of life of Vaddas if they are in the mood they will entertain you with some dance moves. After the interactive secession with Vaddas proceed towards Arugam-Bay an exciting beach destination and a paradise for surfers. Check into the hotel and relax.

Day 7-8: Beautiful Arugam Bay

Visit the historical sites and discover the hidden secrets of Arugam Bay.

Day 9: Arugam Bay to Buttala

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and proceed towards Buttala. The area surrounding Buttala is part of the Monaragala district in south-eastern Sri Lanka. According to the 5th-century Buddhist chronicle "Mahavamsa", Buttala itself was situated on the northern border of King Dutugemunu's the Ruhunu Kingdom as a defense base to be used on his way to Anuradapura, making it a location of considerable cultural and historical importance as well as a prime eco-tourism destination. Check into hotel and relax in the evening start your Journey into the Wildlife park on a safari jeep.

Day 10: Visit the famous hill country in Haputale

Breakfast at the hotel and Proceed towards Haputale. Haputale is one of the unique places in Sri Lanka. The South geo plane run towards distance sea and north runs to far Mountains of Nuwaraeliya and Ella. The eastern plane is one tea plantation that disappears into far sky and green valley of Buduruwagala Paddy fields and forest. The Climate is cool in this Tea City. Day 11: Discover the evergreen Haputale

Day 12: Visit Tangalle, The deep down South Beach of Sri Lanka
