There's no need to take out your map or try to figure out the best route to your next destination on your own. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and soak up the sights. Our Gondola Tour Venice is operated by an officially-licensed gondolier who will steer you to the city's most important sites. You will be able to see all there is to see from this iconic vessel. The Bridge of Sighs, Doges Palace, St Marks Basilica, you name it! It's our favorite must on a list of things to do in Venice.

Another benefit of giving yourself to the experienced hands of our Gondolier is the safety of avoiding a scam. A gondola ride is not the cheapest, and there are as many tariffs as there are gondoliers. If you are not careful, you can end up overpaying. Unsuspecting tourists are always a target.

However, our maximum six-passenger Gondola Tour allows you to get the most out of this unique experience without cramping your style, or your budget. Plus, you will save yourself a great deal of time looking for a gondolier on your and negotiating the gondola ride price. If you crave a bit of intimacy with your other half, you can upgrade to a private tour and a romantic gondola ride?

Even if you are not able to book ahead of time, you can be sure not to miss out on an experience like this with our easy booking!

Gondolas have been used to get around the canals of Venice for centuries. They were widely used by Venetian noble families as well as common folk. In fact, in the past, thousands of them crammed the busy canals of the city! Today, only hundreds survive.

Their unique, unmistakable design was perfected in the 18th century. Thes light-weight 11-meter-long vessels, have a distinctive long prow topped off with the distinctive metal ornament called Ferro with the shape of a six-toothed comb, symbolizing the six districts of Venice called Sestieri. The function of the Ferro is not only symbolic but also practical. It balances the weight of the gondolier at the other end of the vessel. A single gondolier stands behind the passengers at the back of the gondola to navigate the waters of the canals with just one oar.

Owning a gondola was a status symbol for the Venetian aristocratic families. Rivalry among families got so heated up that a sumptuary law in the 16th century was necessary to regulate the production of gondolas, requiring they all be painted black. Today Gondolas are still used in ceremonial and competitive boat races or regattas.

Don't hesitate any longer! Venice will not float forever so, perhaps, today is the day to go for a ride. Book your Venice Gondola Tour; you won't regret it!
