A MUST-DO IN BARCELONA

This was the first time I had been on a free walking tour and I didn't know what to expect, but it was absolutely brilliant! Very easy to find them in the meeting place off Las Ramblas and very well organised with splitting groups into smaller numbers.

Worth a visit if you are in the area and have some time after seeing the main attractions. Quite busy so book online to save waiting in queues.

The beautiful patterns and colors that reflect off of the walls and ceilings, coming from thoughtfully placed windows, accentuate a sense of harmony and invite introspection.
  • Your Sagrada Familia guided tour brings to light the details of Gaudi’s cathedral, explaining the intricate methods in which the stained glass windows were made and the meanings behind them.

When most people think of Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia springs to mind. This is an iconic image all around the world. Take in all the awe-inspiring beauty on one of the best Sagrada Familia tours; make the moment last forever. Here are some ideas for the best shots for that preserving your memorable moment:

  • Nativity façade from Plaça de Gaudí: The best angle for the “big picture” is from the square opposite, as you can see the legendary Basilica rising above (and reflected in) the lake below.
  • Passion & Death: The haunting Golgotha scene by Josep Maria Subirachs.
  • Tortoise at the base of the column: Look at the bottom of the two main columns before you and you will see a tortoise and a turtle. Together they represent land and sea. In the same way as stone freezes time, so will your photo capture these carved animals forever.

Why is Antoni Gaudi’s Basilica de la Sagrada Familia important?

If you buy online, Barcelona Sagrada Familia tickets are a bit more expensive (starting from €25, depending on the season), however, it’s still better to pay a small fee than spend two hours standing in a queue.
