Start your journey in Reykjavík, before heading out to see some of Iceland’s most iconic and well-known sites. You’ll pass Hellisheiðavirkjun, Iceland’s largest geothermal power station, before reaching þingvellir National Park – a UNESCO site, where you learn about Iceland’s birth as a nation, as well as straddling two tectonic plates.
You’ll then head over to Geysir Hot Springs, where numerous geysers explode out of the ground, sending boiling hot water erupting metres into the air every 5-8 minutes.
Gullfoss Waterfall and the Secret Lagoon are next on the agenda. Gullfoss Waterfall is arguably Iceland’s most famous waterfall, and you can get up close to it, and let the mist shower your face if you’re brave enough. The Secret Lagoon is Iceland’s oldest natural pool, and you can enjoy a beer while you float in the naturally heated water, no matter how cold it is outside.
After working up an appetite, you’ll then visit Friðheimar Tomato Farm, where a natural crop of tomatoes grows thanks to the geothermal heat underneath them. This greenhouse restaurant serves homemade tomato soup and fresh bread, perfect for warming you back up and filling you up.
You’ll then head back to Reykjavík with a full camera roll and a full belly to end one of Iceland’s most adventurous tours.
