What better way to experience the bright Icelandic summer nights than out on the water under the midnight sun. This personal whale watching excursion runs each summer from June until mid-August and is designed to showcase the abundant marine life of the bay at a tranquil hour. Long daylight means extended opportunities to observe behaviour and to photograph animals against vibrant evening skies.
Our custom made, safe and stable RIB boats allow guests to get closer to whales and puffins than many conventional vessels, while covering more area to increase sighting chances. Whenever conditions allow, engines are turned off so you can experience the stillness and listen to the sea and wildlife. The craft and crew prioritise comfort and safety while enabling intimate encounters with whales, dolphins and seabirds.
After exploring the bay we return along Reykjavík's shoreline for splendid coastal views from the sea, passing the Sun Voyager sculpture and the striking Harpa Concert Hall. The trip offers excellent photo opportunities and a unique perspective of the city framed by ocean and sky. Guides aim to run a respectful wildlife experience that balances close observation with responsible viewing practices, creating a memorable summer evening afloat.
