The Parks
Munich offers a refreshing dose of nature in the city with its English Garden, the largest park in the city where you can stroll, relax, play sport, or enjoy a drink in one of the array of beer gardens. English Garden is one of the largest city parks in the world, fyi, so there’s certainly no shortage of things to do.
Oktoberfest
The world’s largest folk and beer festival, Oktoberfest is known internationally, and is said to have an attendance of more than 5 million people each year. Perhaps best recognised by the dirndls and lederhosen worn by festival goers, and the beer mugs or ‘steins’, Oktoberfest is a cultural symbol and ingrained in German culture, and is a must visit— the best part, you don’t need tickets for Oktoberfest, so you can stroll through and enjoy the festival without spending a penny.
The Museums
Munich is rife with museums, from car museums to science museums and art galleries, making it a great place to go museum hopping or appreciate the culture of the city. Munich is a cultural and historic hub, and museums are a great place to learn more about its history and culture, as well as its car and beer museums that showcase and celebrate its largest claims to fame.
