Join an unforgettable evening on the water as the night sky above Faxaflói bay and the capital skyline becomes a glittering panorama of colour. The atmosphere ashore and afloat is electric: residents and visitors alike take part in a collective, improvised fireworks performance that transforms the city into a radiant spectacle. Each year thousands of displays create a breathtaking, multi-directional show between 23:00 and midnight.
Onboard you will share the experience with fellow travellers, enjoy lively music and soak up the company and celebration as the countdown to the New Year approaches. If conditions are favourable, the dark skies may also reveal a glimpse of the Northern Lights, adding a magical touch to the occasion.
After the fireworks we will return slowly to the harbour, leaving you free to continue enjoying Reykjavík's vibrant downtown nightlife. Elding proudly supports the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICE-SAR); they are key to local safety and responsible fireworks distribution.
